My experience with Akinê has been exceptional. Their technology and service has allowed my company to monitor surface infrastructure, production, downhole mechanical and reservoir conditions. Accurate data trending of bottom hole pressure, fluid level, pump and rod friction has resulted in reduced failure frequency and better understanding of well performance.

Akinê differentiates itself from competitors by combining mathematical models and algorithms, reliable equipment and a collaborative solution driven approach to providing a product that is critical to running our business. All Burgess Creek engineering and operations staff use the Akinê Live platform daily and it is a focal point in corporate production meetings. The data collected is pushed into our FDC and can be trended alongside daily production data to give a better understanding of well performance than a traditional production plot.

I would recommend Akinê to other operators who are wanting to increase field operation visibility, collect useful well performance data and optimize well run time. The Akinê dashboard provides meaningful data and that field operations has easily adopted and integrated into their daily duties.

The biggest benefit to using Akinê has been getting real time data on wells and having autonomous optimization and notifications to help identify where attention is required. This identification of well behaviour is extremely valuable for production engineering and operations to ensure that our well performance is maximized.

I have installed Akinê equipment on wells for both my current and previous employers. I use Akinê equipment for 2 reasons; reliability and ease of use. I have used other POCs that were not reliable and required constant maintenance. I have also used POCs that were reliable but the information from the controller could not be transmitted in a format that was useful for optimization. The Akinê controllers do not require constant maintenance and the information is easily accessible on the Akinê website. Not only is the information easily accessible but it is presented in a format that is easy to understand and use. Operators in the field and engineers in Calgary are able to use the information immediately for well optimization. Production in my field is up 10% since the installation of the Akinê controllers.

Venturion is a conventional oil company that focuses on implementing and improving waterflooded oil pools. After 4 decades of primary production from the Mica field in NE BC, Venturion implemented a waterflood in the Mica A field in 2017. We are now seeing waterflood response and it is crucial to take advantage of this waterflood response by keeping our ever-changing pumping oil wells constantly optimized. We installed Akinê’s equipment about 6 months ago. The equipment works really well. The software provides the most relevant data and information is provided in an easy to understand format. We know which wells to speed up or upsize and which wells we can slow down a bit to reduce wear. We’ve been able to increase light oil production by about 25% over the past two months.

The Akinê production monitoring system helps Bearspaw Petroleum to optimize production and our costs of operation.

The Akine system allows our operators and office staff to review what is happening at each well so that they can focus on the wells that need attention. Our operators are generally hands-on and often don’t have strong computer skills. The Akinê Live system is “Apple-Easy”, the user friendly information (dials and graphics) assist operators with understanding what’s happening with a particular well. The call-in-center is helpful in training and supporting our field personnel, which both reduces the head office support required by our field personnel and assists them in explaining problems to head office.

The Akine system allows operators and office staff to review the operating history of any particular well such that operating conditions may be adjusted to increase the run time between workovers. The call-in-center also provides technical support to our Engineering staff in reviewing a well’s history, failure analysis, and preparing recommendations to correct any problems when a service rig is on the well. The system can also be easily configured to act as a secondary shutdown system should a pressure increase or decrease occur, or should an operator need to remotely shut-in the Akine equipped wells in an emergency situation.

The products and services Akine provides are reasonably priced, and the Akine “forever warranty” has taken the hassle out of maintaining the equipment required to operate the system. We never have to think about additional costs if something is not working as it should. Krzys and his team have integrity, are hardworking, actually support their product.
